Manchester City icon Kevin De Bruyne played his final home game at the Etihad Stadium on May 20, 2025, as City defeated Bournemouth 3-1 in the Premier League. While the win kept City in the title race, the night belonged to De Bruyne.

After a decade at the club, the 33-year-old Belgian waved goodbye to fans in an emotional farewell, with tributes pouring in from former teammates like Aguero, Sterling, and Kompany. Manager Pep Guardiola, visibly emotional, praised De Bruyne’s immense contribution, calling him “irreplaceable.”

De Bruyne leaves City with 16 trophies and a joint-record 846 Premier League chances created. A statue will be erected in his honor outside the Etihad.

“It’s a sad day,” said Guardiola. “But it was a lovely goodbye.”

De Bruyne told fans, “I’ll always be part of this club. We love you. See you soon.”
